"Knowing the fact, that in our society they have not given utmost importance and respect. The discrimination against the girl child was deep rooted and needed to be addressed at a different level and on many fronts to change the societal mindset. We realized that the magnitude of the issue was far greater than we had imagined and this realization became the reason for the establishment of Tejaswani a.k.a Tejaswani Mahila Evam Jan Kalyan Samiti, Kota. "
Tejaswani Mahila Evam Jan Kalyan Samiti, Kota was registered under the Societies Act 1958 on December 17, 2005. Constant efforts were made by the organization (Tejaswani) from the very beginning to make women self-reliant through awareness campaigns, vocational trainings, skill development programs, etc. During this journey, many challenges came in front of us and the biggest one was to rescue the girls and women involved in prostitution and making them self-reliant while protecting their self-respect. Serious efforts were made for the prevention of this soul-wrenching evil practice in the collaboration with Ujjwala scheme of the government. The caravan went ahead and the evils spread in the society started coming to the fore such as female feticide, child prostitution, child exploitation, child marriage, child labour, child trafficking, child violence, malnutrition, gender discrimination etc., and this became the reason of migration of girl child, living on the streets, violation of law, intoxication, indulging in evilslike becoming child labor etc.
In such a situation, these girls were deprived of education, nutrition, health, entertainment, care and protection. Tejaswani's new journey started to end these evils. Our institution was registered from the Department of Child Empowerment under Juvenile Justice Act(JJ ACT) 2015-2016, Care and Protection of the Girl Child, named "Tejaswini Girls Open Shelter Home", Bundi, Rajasthan was inaugurated on 20-06-2012 in Bundi district of Rajasthan. In which the girls of all the above categories of Bundi district were admitted on the orders of the Child Welfare Committee. They take decisions in the interest of the boys/girls in the age group of 0-18 years of the entire district. Till now, more than 1000 girls in Bundi district have benefited from care, protection, health, education, entertainment, guidance, rehabilitation, training and have tried to beautify their life. With this purpose of providing the Home based care, "Tejaswini Balika Grih"(Children's Home), Kota was also started in Kota district of Rajasthan in the year 2016. In which about 200 girls were benefitted from all the facilities which they were deprived of all their life. We are proud to say that these girls are living normal life at Tejaswani with all the facilities and respect that they deserve.
